Here is the whole journey, demystified. What you will do, what we will do, and exactly how long it takes.
Why borrowing online beats walking into a branch.
Each step in detail, with how long it takes and what you will need.
Open our calculator on the home page. Drag the first slider to the amount you need (R500 to R8,000). Drag the second to how many months you want to repay over (1 to 6). The total cost updates live, so there are no surprises before you even click apply.
Click apply and you will land on our secure form. We ask for your SA ID number, contact details, employment info, and bank account. Then you upload three things: your ID, recent payslips (or 3 months of bank statements if self-employed), and proof of your bank account. Snap the photos with your phone, the upload happens right there.
We share your application with our panel of NCR-registered South African lenders. Each lender runs their own NCA-required affordability check — pulling your credit profile from the SA bureaus, comparing the loan against your income and existing commitments, and confirming you can repay comfortably. The matched lender sends their offer back through us.
You will get a link to the matched lender’s NCA-compliant pre-agreement quote. Every cost is laid out: interest, initiation fee, service fee, total repayable, repayment dates. Read it. Read it again. If you are happy, sign electronically with the lender. If you change your mind in the next 5 business days, you can cancel — that is your legal right under the NCA.
Once you sign, the matched lender releases payment via EFT to your nominated SA bank account. Capitec, FNB, Standard Bank, Absa, Nedbank, TymeBank — they all clear quickly. The lender SMSes you the moment payment goes out. Your bank takes 30 to 60 minutes to reflect it. Then it is yours to spend.
The minimum requirements. If you meet these, the form is open to you.
Have these on your phone before you start. The whole form takes 5 minutes.
A photo of your green ID book or smart ID card. Both sides if it is the card.
Your last 3 payslips. If you are self-employed or freelance, 3 months of bank statements instead.
A bank-stamped confirmation letter, or a recent bank statement showing your account number.

An indicative example using NCA-cap-aligned figures. Your matched lender’s actual quote may vary within those caps — they will show you the exact numbers before you sign.
Borrowed on the 5th. Repaid in 3 monthly instalments.
Note: Indicative only. Each NCR-registered lender sets pricing within NCA caps. The matched lender’s pre-agreement quote shows your exact figures. Settle early and you pay less interest — early-settlement penalties are forbidden by the NCA. Late fees only apply if a debit order bounces and is not resolved with the lender.
Repayment is between you and the matched lender, not Instant Fund. Set up once at signing. Runs automatically.
When you sign with the lender, choose a debit-order date. Most applicants pick the day after payday.
Standard across the panel: SMS and email reminder 3 days before each collection. No surprises on your statement.
Pay off in full any time, no penalty — the NCA forbids early-settlement charges. The earlier you settle, the less interest you pay.
Call your matched lender before a due date you can’t meet — they can shift it or set up a short plan. Lost their number? Ring 0860 INSTANT.
The whole process takes about an hour. Most of that is the lender’s payout time, not the form. Get started in 5 minutes.
