Is Instant Fund a direct lender? +
No. Instant Fund is a free online loan-matching service. We send your single application to a panel of NCR-registered South African lenders. Any final credit agreement is between you and the matched lender.
Does using Instant Fund cost me anything? +
Never. The matching service is 100% free for applicants. Partner lenders pay us a referral fee when they fund an applicant — that's how we keep the lights on. Your loan terms aren't affected.
Who can apply through Instant Fund? +
You need an SA ID, you're 18 or older, you've got regular income, and you bank with a major South African bank. That's it.
Do I need a good credit score? +
Not necessarily. Our partner lenders weigh what you earn and what you spend, not just a credit score. Plenty of applicants with rough credit histories still get matched. Final approval rests with the lender.
Can I apply if I'm self-employed? +
Yes. Send three months of bank statements instead of payslips. The lender panel will work with that.
Can I apply if I receive a SASSA grant? +
If the grant pays out on a regular monthly schedule and you can afford to repay, yes. You'll need to upload proof of the grant.
How much can I be matched for? +
From R500 to R8,000. The matched lender sets the final approved amount based on affordability. First-time applicants usually start lower.
How long can I take to repay? +
Anywhere from one to six months. You request the term you want; the matched lender confirms it in the loan agreement. Shorter terms cost less in total interest.
What's the youngest I can be to apply? +
18, by South African law. NCR-registered lenders cannot fund minors regardless of income.
Is the service available in all nine provinces? +
Yes. If you bank in South Africa and have an SA ID, you can apply from anywhere. Joburg, Cape Town, Polokwane, wherever.
